If you are lucky enough to be in Texas over New Year’s, you may have a hard time deciding what to do – there are just too many options. Here are a few suggestions to make your Texas New Year memorable.

Walk in the New Year - Fredericksburg's Memorial Walk and First Walk of 2011/12 are a great ways to get you started on those New Year's resolutions right off the bat. The Memorial Walk, held Dec. 31, is the last official walking event staged in Texas during 2011. Likewise, the First Walk of 2012 is the first walking event of the new year in Texas and begins at 12:30 a.m. Jan. 1.

First Night Austin – Held each year on New Year's Eve, First Night Austin includes an afternoon family festival, a procession down Congress Avenue, and a night-time art show and festival which features steet corners and storefronts converted into art galleries and stages.

Celebrate San Antonio – The Alamo City rings in the new year with fireworks, Carnaval de San Antonio, music and more. And, it’s all free to the public!

Cotton Bowl Classic – January 6, 2012 will be the 76th Cotton Bowl Classic, which is now held at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium. For three-quarters of a century, the Cotton Bowl Classic has pitted some of college football's top teams, this year promises to be no different

Big D NYE - In the tradition of "saving the best for last," the biggest party in Dallas occurs on the year's final day.
