[post_ads_2]The Pacific Science Center began as the United States Science Pavilion during the 1962 Seattle World's Fair, where visitors explored the wonders of science. After the World's Fair ended, the Science Pavilion was turned into the non-profit Pacific Science Center, a museum focusing on science and technology. It continues to be one of Seattle more popular attractions.

The Pacific Science Center offers two different Imax® movie theatres. The Boeing IMAX® Theatre, which seats 405 people, provides state-of-the-art IMAX® 3D technology, a screen that's six stories high and 80 feet wide, and 12,000 watts of stereo sound. The Paccar IMAX® Theater offers a smaller 35 by 60 foot screen; it seats 360 people and usually features 2-D films.

Interesting Facts About the Pacific Science Center
- The Pacific Science Center was designed by the architect Minoru Yamasaki, who also designed the World Trade Center in NYC.
- The fountains outside the Pacific Science Center appeared in the Elvis Presley movie It Happened at the World's Fair.
