This is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States, and when you examine all of the natural attractions that can be enjoyed in Yosemite, there is no doubt why so many people visit the park every year. Climbing the Half Dome is one of the most impressive physical challenges for many, while seeing the geysers explode and throw steam and hot water into the air is equally interesting for other people. Whatever the reason for your visit, a trip to Yosemite is also a great chance to enjoy some of the wonderful campsites that are located around the park, ranging from beautiful remote spots to those that are ideal for the major sights.
White Wolf Campsite
This
beautiful campsite is one that is popular for its wonderful views of
the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains, and lies on the edge of the
forest with a variety of plots and some RV spots too. The wildlife
around the campsite is pretty impressive with plenty of birds and
inquisitive chipmunks, and if you are worried about bears coming in and
stealing food each pitch does have access to a bear box to keep food and drink safe.

The toilet facilities are pretty basic so it is
worth bringing your own paper just in case, and nearby is the White Wolf
Lodge which does do meals if you don't want to cook.
Sawmill Campsite
Just
on the eastern edge of the park, this campground is another of the
scenic beautiful campgrounds in the area, enjoying some wonderful
mountain views, with Tioga Peak and White Mountain
the two closest to the campground. This is a camping only option and is
a short walk away from a nearby car park, while those wanting to enjoy
some hiking or fishing
will find the nearby Saddlebag Lake a lovely option. The good access to
Yosemite National Park is also good, although it can be a slightly
longer drive away from some of the main sights than the National Parks
campgrounds inside the park.
Yosemite Creek[post_ads_2]
If
you are looking for some truly remote camping in the national park,
this is definitely one of the best campgrounds to choose, as it is at
the end of a rough road that is really only accessible to SUVs or 4x4
vehicles. The facilities are pretty basic, without any running water or
washing facilities, but the peace and quiet are a big draw, while
exploring the surroundings well away from the main tourist areas of the
park is both interesting and beautiful. Make sure to bring everything
you need to this campground, as apart from finding firewood for a fire,
you will need to be self sufficient in this lovely camping area.
Bridalveil Creek
This
campground is a good one if you need the convenience of being on one of
the main roads through the park, as it is just off the Glacier Point
Road around 26 miles from the Yosemite Valley. Beautiful mountain views
are visible through the fir trees that surround the area, while the
pleasant creek itself is a nice place to relax and enjoy the lovely
surroundings. Drinking water
and flushing toilets are among the home comforts on offer, while a fire
circle and a picnic table are provided for each pitch, and the presence
of a bear box makes it easy to store food and drink out of the way.
Hodgdon Meadow[post_ads_2]
A
good site if you are planning on heading to Tuolumne Sequoia Grove or
want a quiet spot that it still within driving distance of the main
attractions of the Yosemite National Park, this campground has both RV
pitches and traditional camping pitches. There are plenty of facilities
and bear boxes to keep your food secure, and you can be confident that
this is a good option for those who are taking their first camping trip, and want a few facilities to make the trip a little easier.
Yosemite
can be an intimidating park due to the size, wildlife, and activities
that require some skill and a certain level of physical fitness.
Remember that there are always day trips, activities, and campground
that are suitable for you. Enjoy the park alone, with a friend, or bring
the whole family!
