[post_ads_2]One of my favorite places on earth is Lake Malawi and the Blue Zebra Island Lodge is the perfect spot to enjoy the best the Lake has to offer. The Lodge was built in 2012 on Nankoma Island part of the Marelli Island Archipelago. To get there takes just a quick 2 hour drive form the capital Lilongwe, and then a fun boat ride out to the Island. The Islands are a birders paradise and for those into snorkeling, an unparalleled riot of color in the Lake's clear, warm waters.

Meals and Activities[post_ads_2]
The
lodge caters for each guest’s needs on a full board basis, with plenty
of fresh options, meal choices, and can cater to those with dietary
restrictions.
The Fig Tree Bar offers a large selection of
drinks and cocktails including some Malawian specialities (try a Malawi
Gin and Tonic, or a refreshing Malawi Shandy). Tucked in and around the
resort are several comfortable and secluded lounges in which one can
relax and admire Lake Malawi's glorious views.
Guests are free to
chill at the infinity pool, kayak around the islands or enjoy a game of
volleyball as part of the full board package. The lodge also offers free
use of snorkeling equipment to view the unique colourful fish that
inhabit every inch of the coastline. The more adventurous can take
advantage of other water sports including wakeboarding, skiing and SCUBA
diving.
The water sports centre is PADI certified and
can cater for novice and experienced divers with dive locations located
all around the island to suit every level of experience. The dive center
is involved with a number of conservation initiatives to protect the
island’s Cichlids.
Nature lovers can take the time to explore the
island’s birdlife either by boat or by foot with its nature
trailsleading to the top of the island.
