The largest town that you will be able to find in the Ambergris Caye of Belize is called San Pedro. It is also one of the most popular places to visit for travelers in Belize. Once you see its white sanded beaches, palm trees, cute restaurants, friendly people, great diving and crystal clear waters you will understand. Because of its popularity I bet you can imagine the amount of accommodation options available in this town.

This
was one of the first lessons I got while doing my research for hotels
in San Pedro. The place is saturated with them! Also, when you see their
websites it is hard to be able to tell which one is the right one for
you. In some cases you can’t even tell if they are located on the beach,
if they are in the middle of all the noise or how close they are from
restaurants and attractions you want to visit.
In the end I found one that seemed to have everything I was looking for and made reservations for my family and I.
Here is What I think of the hotel in Ambergris Caye that we stayed:
From what I was able to see on their website, Blue Tang Inn had the right mix of qualities.
First, it is located right on the beach, it
wasn’t private, but it was far enough from everything else that few
people walked by and even less stayed to hang out in it. The hotel is
only a few minutes away from all of the fun that the town has to offer,
but within the rooms, everything was pure tranquility.
This is
very important when you travel with small kids. Quiet time at night can
make all the difference between happy or cranky kids the next day,
especially if you are planning to go out and explore the next day.
The
second thing I loved about the hotel was that it is a small place with
tons of homey touches, making it an adorable place to stay in. Plus, the
staff was always around to help with the kids. They are very attentive.

Our
room was very spacious. We had a full kitchen and a sitting area where
we ate. There was also a super comfortable futon bed that we pulled out
and used to relax.
However my favorite part and the place I spent
most of my time on was the pier. Also, all of the tours come and get you
just a few steps away from the hotel.
The price included a tasty
and varied continental breakfast. They even gave us the choice of having
it in the privacy of our room or right on the beach as we watched the
sea and the local life in action.
Overall I have to say that I was
very happy with my choice. My boys also loved the fact that the hotel
had a small swimming pool, however, you don't really need one when you
have the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean only meters away. We had
a great stay in this small, kid friendly hotel.
