Nicaragua is much more than a place to explore lush rain forests, tour colonial cities and to see many tropical animals. It also has gorgeous beaches on both the Caribbean and Pacific Coasts. This is a great country to relax, soak up the sun and enjoy all of the water activities that are offered in all of its gorgeous beaches.

The country offers everything from black to white sanded beaches as well as touristy and deserted beaches.
There are tons of them but this list includes only a few of the ones that are considered best for a lot of people.
1. The Corn Islands - These are two islands located about forty three miles from the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua. Aside from offering beautiful white sanded beaches they offer lots of fresh seafood, scuba diving, no cars and snorkeling.
What
do you want to see: barracudas, sea turtles, rays or maybe underwater
caves? Or maybe you prefer to explore the jungle? You can do it all when
you visit any of these two islands.
The towns are filled with colorful and fun buildings. Plus accommodations here tend to be funky beachside cabanas.
2. Pochomil Beach - Pochomil
is located on the Pacific coast of the country. This is one of the
nearest beaches to the capital city, Managua (only 60km away).
Proximity has made it one of the most popular beaches for everyone in
the city and surroundings.
Popular activities here include
surfing, horseback riding, sun bathing and eating. There is no lack of
restaurants on Pochomil Beach and they all offer delicious dishes with
seafood as the main ingredient.
This one is not as private as
the former ones but it still is not too crowded. You will mostly find
locals. If you want even more privacy come here between Monday and
Thursday.
Also note that the tides are strong and kids should never be unattended.
3. Marsella Beach, San Juan del Sur - Playa
Marsella isn’t as popular as it should be, but that makes it great for
all of us looking for privacy. This long strip of white sanded beach
offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. If you want to you can also
rent a kayak and explore the surrounding mangroves or go on a cruise
trip to try to see whales.
Unlike the previous one this beach is kid friendly and safe to swim.
4. Montelimar - This
is the place you want to be if you enjoy luxurious beach resorts and
casinos. Montelimar is considered one of the most exclusive beaches of
all Central America.

Plus
it is located only a few minutes away from Managua City. It is also on
the Pacific coast of the country and consists of three kilometers of
white sanded beach.
Popular activities include windsurfing and sun bathing.
5. La Boquita Beach - Here
is yet another beach on the Pacific coast of the country. This is also a
place known for having an abundance of chic hotels, amazing restaurants
and fun bars.
This is the most touristy beach of all of the
mentioned ones in this article. But that doesn’t take away from the fact
that it is a gorgeous place.
Just remember not to come during the weekends to avoid crowds.
I
am sure that these aren’t the only beaches in Nicaragua that can take
your breath away. But I do know that you will love each and every one of
the previously mentioned beaches.
