Nanuku Auberge Resort, Fiji Adventure Honeymoon Guide
If you really want to take advantage of all that Fiji has to offer, plan to visit Pacific Harbour, otherwise known as the country's adventure capital. Book your stay at Nanuku Auberge Resort, a breathtaking beachfront stay that offers luxury accommodations and easy access to some unbelievably cool activities. So, if you and your spouse-to-be just can't decide between sunbathing and shark diving, this is the spot for you. To make planning simple, we're offering up a five-day itinerary for the ultimate adventure-meets-relaxation honeymoon in Fiji. And if you want to extend your stay by a day (or five)? We promise there's plenty more to keep you busy.
Day 1:
Upon arrival at the Nadi International Airport, the Nanuku Auberge Resort's concierge team will charter a private helicopter to transfer you to the property's helipad. You'll get an unbeatable view of the island's different regions, and the 30-minute scenic tour feels more like an excursion than a transport.
Check-in and then check out your gorgeous beach-front villa, complete with a full kitchen, private pool and terrace. To battle your jet lag, book a treatment at the resort's spa. A couple's massage, complete with a foot massage and access to a private whirlpool bath, will help you adjust to Fiji time. Enjoy dinner at the resort's restaurant, or have dinner prepared in your villa.
Day 2:
Day 3:
One of the most special parts of a stay at Nanuku is getting to know the local people and culture. Book a food safari with your buddy (each villa is assigned a local guide that joins you on excursions), then travel to the local market to choose your favorites for dinner (pro tip: Don't miss out on the freshly-caught crab!). After, you'll have a traditional Fijian cooking class back at the resort.
Before you sit down for hand-picked meal, take in more of the local culture. A private cava ceremony is one of the most important rituals you can witness, and those that really want to understand Fijian life should make it a priority to take part.
Day 4:
Wake up early and embark of a waterfall trek. You'll enjoy a longboat ride on a nearby river, then enjoy a short, scenic hike to a secluded waterfall. Take a dip (the water is the perfect temperature, even during Fiji's winter months!) and pose for pictures in the lagoon.
You'll be back in time for lunch, so grab a poolside bite then unwind in the water and indulge in a cocktail at the swim-up bar. For a relaxing end to the evening, arrange for a cinematic dining experience, where you and your new husband or wife can enjoy dinner over a movie of your own choosing at the resort's on-site outdoor movie theater.
Day 5:
Conservation is important to the team at Nanuku, so jump at any opportunity you have to see their team in action. Help plant coral reef, repot mangrove trees, or even visit the hotel's own bee hive, where a local expert can you a private crash course in beekeeping. Want to get in another day of adventure? Cage-gree bull shark diving, white water rafting, jet skiing and zip lining are all on offer, too.
To celebrate your final night in paradise, plan a cliffside dinner, where you two will watch the sun set over the Pacific Ocean. By the time dessert is served, the sky will be dotted with stars and you'll wrap up the ultimate honeymoon in style.
