It’s that time of year again! Thanks in large part to sluggish January sales, Icelandic budget airline WOW air has just released fares as low as $69 for select flights from America to Europe from now through May 2018.
Just get a look at these prices! It’s cheaper than a night out at Olive Garden.

Though WOW air has had flash sales like these before, this one is a lot more comprehensive. As always, however, there are a few catches.
The first one is that you have to act fast because a lot of the routes are selling out already.
The other catch is that, as usual, the low fare is only one-way, so if you’re not planning on escaping to Europe forever, then you’ll need to buy a more or less regular-priced ticket back home.

You also don’t have a lot of flexibility with the dates. The budget airline conveniently shows you the lowest fares when you choose your origin and desired destination, but you have to do some browsing to figure out when would be the most convenient time to get back. Of course, it almost always requires you to depart on a Wednesday and come back on a Friday 10 days later.
And, finally, you need to join MYWOW in order to access this special low price.
Nonetheless, you could still get some pretty sweet deals! If I, for example, were interested in hoofing it over to Amsterdam in just a month’s time, I could get there and back for just $238. At this low fare, I’d only be allowed one personal item free of charge, but for that price, I’d be totally justified in hopping over for just a few days.

Even if you don’t want to take advantage of the deal, frequent fliers to Europe have a lot of reasons to be grateful for this budget airline. Their low prices are forcing traditional carriers to slash their fares, which, combined with the strength of the dollar, makes it the best time to book a flight to Europe!
