The 10 Most Expensive Airbnb Rentals in the U.S.

Flying to Austin soon? Here's a pad for a cool $10,000-per-night—and all of the other wildly expensive places you can rent on Airbnb.

By Diana Bruk, BESTLIFE

Once a site that simply made it easy to pop a squat in someone else’s apartment for a night, Airbnb has evolved into a veritable museum of housing that offers up some truly unimaginable places to stay. Wanna stay in an igloo in Finland? A giraffe tent in South Africa? A treehouse in a bamboo forest on the outskirts of Atlanta? The website has it all and more.

[post_ads]Now, storage facility Simply Self-Storage has crunched the numbers to determine the most expensive rental in each of their most popular American cities, and here are the results. And if you’re looking to take your travels abroad, now’s the perfect time. Read up on Why Now’s the Best Time to Book a Trip to Europe.

Austin, Texas

For a mere $10,075 a night, you can live Austin’s infamous South by Southwest festival up in style at this exclusive villa. The property includes two separate houses and a guest house, which means it can accommodate at least 16 people at a time. The festival, which occurs every March, is within walking distance, and after soaking up all the excitement there, you can relax with your friends by your luxurious, private outdoor pool.

Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

This custom-designed 6,300-square-foot Hawaiian estate has 5 bedrooms and 5.5 baths, so it can accommodate 12 or more guests at a time. Perched by the Four Seasons Resort, it offers a breathtaking view of the island’s coastline, as well as authentic Hawaiian details like like outdoor showers and a custom hot tub. Then there’s the outdoor infinity pool and fire pit, where you can watch the sun set over the ocean. At $4,900, it quite a steal!

Denver, Colorado

This sprawling, 30-acre property is comprised of a main house, cottage, and barn, along with an outdoor pool, hot tub, playground, outdoor bar and BBQ, home gym, and private pond that can be explored by kayak. It’s no wonder that the estate is often used for weddings and corporate events, as it can host 22 overnight guests, and many more during the day. Its proximity to downtown Boulder makes this property, which costs $4,249 a night, a real beauty.

Chicago, Illinois

If you’re into converted spaces, you’ll love this luxurious 11-room Bed and Breakfast that was once a publishing house in Chicago’s West Loop! The apartment, which costs $3,250, is quite a steal because it can accommodate up to 24 people, and each room has its own bathroom.

Orlando, Florida

One of the largest vacation homes in the area, this 25,000 square feet villa can accommodate up to 34 guests and only costs$4,628/night. Perfect for large families taking a trip to Disney World together, this 14-bedroom, 16-bathroom villa is its own private amusement park. Inside the house you’ll find a bowling alley, a home theater, an indoor sports court and multiple fully-equipped game rooms. Outside, there’s a private swimming pool with a lazy river, bridge, sunken bar with stools in pool, and illuminated fountains. For the adults, there’s also a rooftop pool, gym, and large spa.
