New Orleans, Louisiana, USA
Affectionately known as NOLA, New Orleans is great place to have a
great time on a budget. You’ve got to be a bit more creative when trying
to travel cheaply in NOLA, but it is definitely possible. AirBnB is
your best bet for accommodations, you can find some sweet spots for
around $25/ night. Buy the Jazzy Pass, its a bus pass that allows you
unlimited access to public transportation, it’s only $3 a day! For
dining, stick to less touristy spots and opt for hole-in-the wall bars
with epic happy hour deals and good grub.
Angkor Wat, Cambodia
A great Southeast Asia backpackers destination spot with cost on the
lower end of the spectrum. Depending on your standards for sleeping
accommodations, you’ll spend between $4 and $20 USD per night on a place
to crash. The Angkor Wat entrance fee for a day is a whopping $20 USD.
Tourist trap? Maybe. But it’s worth checking out none-the-less. Be weary
of using U.S. currency, as vendors will quickly up prices when paying
in USD currency. Transportation around town is super cheap, but you may

USD and transportation and entertainment will be around $14. You’re
looking to spend about $55/day USD.
