If you’re looking for adventure over relaxation during your vacation, you should try surfing.
The Caribbean may not be the first place you think of when discussing surfing, but it has plenty of beaches for surf lovers, as the Barcelo Hotel Group notes.
For one of the best spots in all the Caribbean, head to Bocas del Toro Archipelago in Panama.
[post_ads]Cabarete in the Dominican Republic offers travelers several water sports activities. Per the Barceló blogger, “the perfect surf spot is Playa Encuentro (five minutes by car, west of Cabarete), which has points for different skill levels, from beginners (Bobo’s Point) to professionals who will be challenged at Destroyers and Coco Pie.”
Surfing and bodyboarding can be found in Aruba at Wariruri and Dos Playas. Wariruri is less than half an hour drive from Palm Beach, which is home to the Barceló Aruba hotel.
Playa Negra beach is home to some of the most intense waves in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. And from December to March, you can ride waves from beach to beach along the coast from Cahuita to Manzanillo.

And lastly, Cancun, Mexico does give travelers some good surfing waves from June through November. If you’re there during that time and want to surf, make your way to Chac Mool and Delfines (El Mirador)
