[post_ads]Your honeymoon is a time to celebrate the beginning of your lifelong union with your new spouse (without stress or interruptions). What the trip is not for, however, is catching up on tasks or doing anything that will prove a distraction from your post-wedding vacation. Here are the six items you should absolutely leave at home while you honeymoon.
Your laptop.
Especially if you're using the electronic device for work, there's no place for your laptop during your time away. "Your honeymoon is a time to relax and let go of any pressures, work or wedding related," says relationship expert Nicci Sprouse. "Electronics make it difficult to relax, so make designated times to check in with work if you absolutely have to," she adds. It's not a bad idea to keep your phone on you, but decide on designated times to check it.
Social media.
While it may be tempting to post photos of your vacation—and all the adventures you're enjoying while you're there—sharing honeymoon pics on social media can wait until you return. "Sure, taking photos and making memories are essential parts of the honeymoon," Sprouse says, "but logging into Facebook to check for 'likes' defeats the purpose of a relaxing vacation." Remember what this time away is really about. "Take photos, but solely for the purpose of creating an album."
Unnecessary items.
Pack light and easy for your honeymoon. "Remove the 'what ifs' from your bag, and your mind," Sprouse says. "Do you think you'll really want to wear that shirt, or those shoes? Are you even going to read that book you're packing?" Keep only the essentials in mind, because you won't want to spend your time meant for relaxing by worrying over every little detail in your bag. "Your honeymoon isn't about the things you pack," she adds. "It's about the memories you make, and focusing on each other."

Thank-you cards.
These can wait until after they honeymoon, we promise! Because wedding planning can completely consume you, the most important thing to do for your stress and sanity is to get out of "planning-mode" and into "relaxation-mode" on your honeymoon. "Taking an excursion off the resort, or touring a couple landmarks is fine, but remember to live in the moment—relaxed and carefree," she says. "You'll have plenty of time to write thank-you cards later. Enjoy your time now."
Your pre-wedding diet plan.
Because you no longer need to worry about fitting into your wedding dress and looking your fittest in your wedding album, you've earned the right to indulge, Sprouse says. "Break as much bread as you want, and devour every bite of your dessert," she adds. This time isn't about dieting, it's about exploring the local cuisine and enjoying yourself.
