If you're looking for a way to travel the world for an extended period of time but don't have the savings to fund it, teaching English could be the perfect solution for you. It allows you to live in a foreign country indefinitely, the work is reasonably easy, and you often only need a college degree as a qualification. Here are the best countries to teach English in:
South Korea
South Korea is known as the best-paying country for teaching English around the world,
so this should be your first port of call if you want to teach English
in Asia. South Korea has many of the modern amenities as the Western
world and is particularly cheap to live in. If your lucky, your teaching
gig may pay for your accommodation and some of your food, meaning that
you can build up your savings for some travel once your contract ends.

Taiwan
Taiwan is my favorite country in the world, so you should definitely add it to your list when you're thinking of places to teach.
Taiwan is very liberal,
technologically-advanced, and the pay is good. The only downside to
Taiwan is that accommodation is often not included in contracts and the
affordable apartments can be very small. The good news is that Taiwanese
cuisine is one of the best in the world, so you definitely won't go
hungry when you live there!
Thailand
You won't get rich
through teaching in Thailand, but you'll be able to afford to cover your
expenses and live in a fantastic part of the world. Accommodation and
food is cheap, public transport makes it each to get around, and have
you seen the beaches there? Thailand is a great option if you're looking
to live somewhere and don't mind not building your savings up while you
do.

China ranks somewhere between South Korea and
Thailand when it comes to the income you can make from teaching English
there. The pay won't be incredible, but you'll often get your
accommodation and meals included. Chinese schools will often give you a
generous holiday package, so you can take a month off to travel around
Asia in between school years if you want. The only downside is that the
language barrier can be a problem if you're places in a more rural
spot.
Japan
If you want to teach in Japan, you'll
probably need to have a teaching qualification rather than relying on
having a college degree. If you have your TEFL or CELTA then head to Japan for high wages, a great quality of life, and a thriving expat community for you to join.
Vietnam
Like
Thailand, the pay isn't fantastic in Vietnam, but the country is
wonderful and you'll give to live there for as long as you have a
contract. One great reason to choose Vietnam is because the food is so
fantastic and cheap. You can eat out for $1 a meal, and accommodation
can be as cheap as $100 a month. While you won't get rich teaching
English in Vietnam, you'll have a fun experience doing so and be able to
live in wonderful country. And pho. Pho is the best.
