What NASA Says:
On Aug. 10, 2014, the moon will become full just as it reaches the place in its orbit (perigee) closest to Earth. This full moon –- also known as a supermoon -– will be as much as 14% closer and 30% brighter than other full moons of the year. The annual Perseid meteor shower occurs from Aug. 11-13. NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center hosts a live Ustream and web chat on the night of Aug. 12.
Where can you see the super moon in Brooklyn?
The good news is, if the moon's that big — you can probably see if from just about anywhere in Brooklyn.
That said, here are some great places in Brooklyn that are either elevated, or offer a wide vista of the sky.
Oh, and by the way, the moon isn't really bigger, it's just closer to earth.
