In addition to being the home of the Austin City Limits TV show, the Moody Theater is Austin’s premier mid-sized concert venue. The theater is abuzz with activity year-round, so it’s no wonder that many people want to stay at hotels close to the Moody Theater. Here are some of the best hotels in the area.
1. W Hotel
Located right next to the Moody Theater, the W Hotel is a pricey luxury hotel in the heart of the 2nd Street shopping district.

The Living Room bar is the place to see and be seen during major events such as the South by Southwest Music Festival and the Austin Film Festival.
Despite the upscale setting, the hotel is dog-friendly, and dogs are
even allowed on the restaurant patio. 200 Lavaca Street; (512) 542-3600
2. Extended Stay America
[post_ads]If you’re on a budget and don’t mind a little walking, consider
the Extended Stay America near the corner of 6th Street and Guadalupe.
This is a good choice if you’re not planning to spend much time in the
room. There’s plenty of free parking, which is hard to come by in
downtown Austin. The otherwise no-frills rooms do have stoves and
full-size refrigerators, so you can save even more money by bringing
your own food. 600 Guadalupe Street; (512) 457-9994
3. JW Marriott
Opened
in 2015, the JW Marriott is still shiny and new, but the service is
provided by hotel-industry veterans who really know what they’re doing.
The upper floors have excellent lake and downtown views. Many of the
public spaces feature floor-to-ceiling windows.
The Osteria Pronto restaurant has quickly made a
name for itself as one of the best Italian restaurants in Austin. 110
East 2nd Street; (512) 474-4777
4. Radisson
If you’re a fan of Austin’s famous Congress Avenue bridge bats, this may be the ideal hotel for you. It overlooks Lady Bird Lake at precisely the point where 1.5 million bats emerge every night from the bridge.

Although it’s an older hotel, it’s well
maintained. Some rooms feature Sleep Number beds. 111 E Cesar Chavez
Street; (512) 478-9611
5. Four Seasons
Towering
above the Radisson next door, the Four Seasons also overlooks Lady Bird
Lake. The Trio restaurant offers a top-notch lakeside dining
experience. Fitness buffs will find themselves only steps away from the
Lady Bird Lake hike and bike trail. The Lobby Lounge is a popular spot
during SXSW. Radio Stations even broadcast from the lobby as they
interview up-and-coming acts during the music festival. For next-level
relaxation, visit the Four Seasons spa, which offers massages, body
wraps, pedicures, manicures and facial treatments. Ask about the
Daycation package for a full day of decadent relaxation. 98 San Jacinto
