Travel Forecast: Predictions of Highest Labor Day Travel This Year
Are
you heading out of town this Labor Day weekend? Then you are one of
35.5 million Americans who are expected to travel between the dates of
September 3rd and September 7th. The AAA is projecting the highest
volume of U.S. travel since 2008—even though the holiday falls later
this year. While most people traveling this Labor Day
weekend (86%) will be driving, the number of people hopping on planes
is also expected to rise. Falling gas prices, increased job security,
and feelings of greater job security may be a big factor in the number
of Americans who are choosing to spend money on travel.

Washington vinter Charles Smith celebrated the
grand-opening of the winery by hosting an exclusive private party for
1,500 guests this summer. The renovated facility now features two
tasting rooms that will be open to the public every Wednesday through
Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm, and will pour some of the region’s best
wines.
All On Board with New Disney Alcohol Policy
The idea of drinking and Disney may not go hand in hand, but know that the family entertainment company is cracking down on byob on their cruise ships. Their new alcohol policy
requires passengers' to put any alcoholic beverages they're packing in
carry-on luggage, and anyone caught carrying alcohol in their checked
luggage will have it confiscated (we're guessing Mickey and Minnie will
use it for their own private party). Also, any alcoholic beverages you
carry on may now only be consumed in private cabins - those who wish to
drink their own alcohol in the ship’s dining room will have to pay a
fee.
