If you're headed on a vacation or business trip, it's important to take time for yourself and stay healthy. While it's not always easy to do this, trying a few of these suggestions from fitness expert Eve Lynn Kessner may be just the ticket.

Mental and physical health go hand in hand -- and consistency is important no matter where you lay your head at night. Travel can quickly and easily mess up your health and wellness routine and goals, so having a few of these tricks in your pocket could help keep you on track.
Drink Green Tea
Green tea is a powerful tonic. Energizing, invigorating, and healing, it fights free radicals, keeps you alert, kick-starts your metabolism, and boosts your immunity. Travel can throw off your circadian rhythm, which is why you may start to feel off, bloated, or slow. Drinking green tea (I usually take mine iced!) can help keep things moving, stabilize your energy, and keep you in tip-top health.
Embrace Digestive Enzymes
I take these with me wherever I go, believe it or not -- especially on vacation. That's the time I tend to eat too much (don't we all?), or I'll simply be eating foods my body isn't used to. I cannot control my environment when I'm out in the world away from home, and I do believe it’s important to enjoy life and the world’s offerings, so whenever I know I’ll be straying from my normal dietary routine, I pop a few digestive enzymes to help my body process those foods.
Don’t Overindulge (but Still Enjoy Yourself!)
Stress is the worst thing you can do to yourself, so I suggest letting go a bit on vacation. However, there's something to be said for not overindulging. Try to relax, go with the flow, and don’t stress it if you are off your regular plan, but keep some sense of reality about you. You’ll get back to normal business when you get home -- but that doesn't mean you shouldn't totally check out and become a completely different person on vacation!
Exercise
Moving your body is just as important as relaxing it. Without the stress of scheduling, work, and kids, it’s nice to be able to work out when it feels good to do so. So, before you hit the beach, have a cup of coffee, drink it slowly, and enjoy it; then, strap on your sneakers and hit the gym or pavement. Even if it's not much, a simple morning movement routine will help.
Stretch
Stretching is imperative for a stress-free day and a good night’s sleep. I do at least 10 to 15 minutes of yoga every morning after waking and in the evening before bed. It helps ground me for the day ahead and settle me for a deeper night’s sleep.
