1. Visit Abba The Museum
If you are not a fan of the cold
winter days in Stockholm, there are still plenty of things that you can
do if you are on vacation in the Swedish capital, Stockholm.
The Abba museum is a destination you might want to put on your to-do
list. The museum features the work of the world renowned music group
'ABBA'. It showcases live videos and footage from their concerts. You
can pretend to be a singer with the karaoke being played too.
2. Go Glogg Tasting[post_ads_2]
Glogg
is mulled wine made from red wine, spices and raisins. Glogg tasting is
an activity that families can go to together during the
Halloween-Christmas season. This traditional drink has been around for
many years and is made in almost the same way all over Sweden. Families
and businesses compete against each other to find which glogg is the
best. It is a warm drink which raises the temperature of the mouth and
stomach making it perfect to enjoy during the winters.
3.Stroll Across Kungstradgarden
'Kungstradgarden' literally meaning ' gardens of the king' is a park in Stockholm that
is a favorite spot for meetings and just to hang out. During winters,
the garden has many free activities that can be enjoyed, one of which is
ice skating. So bring out those skating boots and get zooming. Other
events like music concerts, food festivals and small shops are seen
during the cold winter days in this park. The park is known for its
square ponds and many trees, a picturesque halt for all those selfies
and wonderful photographs. Make sure to visit the park's website before
going to check on the latest events.
4. Go to an Event at the Ericsson Globe
[post_ads]Another place worth visiting during winter that will keep you from the cold winter weather and winds
is the Ericsson Globe, an acquisition of the Swedish telecommunication
company Ericsson. It is currently the worlds largest hemispherical
building. Although the globe is primarily used for ice hockey, several
music concerts are known to be held here. Jennifer Lopez, Miley Cyrus,
Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Rihanna, Justin Beiber, Bruno Mars and many others
have used the Ericsson Globe to host their tours. Pope John Paul II is
known to have held the first mass in Sweden at this attraction.
5. Hang Out at the Absolut Ice Bar
The
only permanent ice bar in the world, this bar is always at -5 degrees
Celsius. the entire bar is made of ice including the walls and the
counter-tops. The ice is made from the fresh water coming from the river
Torne in Swedish Lapland. Drinks are served in a fist sized hollow ice
cube and the tables are made of ice too. No seats are available at this
bar. The entry fee to this freezing bar includes a coat, gloves and a
Vodka of your choice from the menu. The Absolut Ice Bar is the most
celebrated alcoholic destination in Stockholm. Now that is something you
do not get everyday. If you are on a vacation or just want to get some
time off your busy schedule what better place to cool off than an ice
bar! The coolest place ever..
